How to Detect the Performance of Connectors?

As we all know, a connector is a device that connects two active devices. In practical applications, you may encounter connector failure or other failure problems, but when you encounter this problem, you will reflect on the problem, which has to talk abo

With the rapid development of intelligent devices, connectors are widely used in various devices. They are the components that electronic engineers and technicians often contact, and are the bridge of communication in electronic circuits. Real transmission ensures the normal operation of all functions of the equipment. The forms and structures of connectors vary greatly. According to different application objects, frequencies, power, application environments, etc., the forms of connectors are also varied. In order to improve its reliability, the process flow of connector production will be finally checked to ensure product quality.

The connector is composed of terminal housing and needle base, which can be generally divided into pre-assembly and post-assembly inspection.

Inspection before assembly
The inspection contents before assembly include: lack of material, burr, shrinkage, deformation, color difference, dirt, blockage, indentation, uneven/deformed baffle, warped sticking point, sag/deflection or fracture, wrong PIN mark/no PIN mark.

Inspection after assembly
The inspection contents after assembly include: whether there is a gap between the copper shell/iron shell and the plastic shell, whether the iron shell/copper shell is deformed, the buckle is not pressed in place, deflected, the plastic shell is damaged, the left and right hooks are not installed in place (the exposed sizes of the hooks at both ends are inconsistent), press the hooks several times by hand to confirm whether the left and right hooks are normal and elastic.

Contact pressure check
The reliability of the connector depends on the contact pressure of its contact pair in a sense. It is an important indicator that can directly affect the size of contact resistance and the wear of contact pairs. In most structures, it is quite difficult to measure the contact pressure directly. Therefore, the contact pressure is often indirectly measured by the separation force of one foot. For circular pinhole contact pairs, the standard contact pin with specified weight weight is usually used to test the ability of the female contact to hold the weight. Generally, the diameter of the standard contact pin is the lower limit of the diameter of the male contact μ m。 The total separation force is generally twice the sum of the upper line of the single-leg separation force. When the total separation force exceeds 50N, it is quite difficult to insert and pull manually. Of course, for some test equipment or some occasions with special requirements, the zero-plug force connector, automatic fall-off connector and so on can be chose.
