The connector (commonly referred to as male and female plug) the copper conductor with inner core. A special metal elastic piece shaped like a watch band is added between its inner core to replace the original irregular contact surface, greatly increasing the effective contact area and forming a typical parallel circuit. It has the characteristics of high current carrying capacity, most amall power loss and contact resistance, impact resistance, corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance, and can maintain such performance for a long time.


Photovoltaic connectoris the core component connecting the module side, cable side and combiner box side, and is also a key small component that is easy to be ignored. In the first two years of operation of photovoltaic power stations, more than 59% of the failure problems occurred, and more than 50% of the failure problems came from connection problems. During the construction of photovoltaic power stations, the practice of connectors should be standardized to avoid hidden dangers for later operation due to improper fabrication.


PV connectors are generally used outdoors, so the main technical indicators of PV connectors are generally:
Rated voltage: 1000VDC or 1500VDC
Rated current: between 10A and 50A, related to the matched cable
Contact resistance:<5m Ω
Ambient temperature range: generally - 40 ℃~85 ℃
Upper limit of temperature: generally 100 ℃
Protection grade: IP67


As the lifeline of the system, photovoltaic connector is an important carrier to ensure the stable transmission of the generated energy from the module to the inverter and the user end throughout the project. The DC side can be divided into line end connectors (such as components), branch connectors (project site) and board end connectors (such as inverters) according to different application scenarios. As a key component, the connector has low contact resistance and long-term reliability, which can ensure the efficient and safe operation of the power station. On the contrary, the continuous increase of contact resistance will significantly increase the safety risk of the project, which may lead to fire accidents.
