1. The problem of interoperability of photovoltaic connectors of different brands
In principle, the same brand and the same model of connectors must be used for interconnection. Each inverter basically comes with the same number of photovoltaic connectors. Please be sure to use the matching connectors for installation. As long as it is installed correctly, there will generally be no problem with the connection on the inverter side. The components generally have a certain length of cable left, and normal installation does not require additional matching photovoltaic connectors. However, due to the increase in component size in recent years, the components are installed in horizontal and vertical rows. In order to save costs, the default reserved length of the component manufacturers is based on the length of the vertical row, and the cables are relatively short. If the design adopts horizontal row, the cable needs to be extended. At this time, it is necessary to match the photovoltaic connector separately, because there are many brands of connectors on the market, and the component factory does not provide matching connectors. The best way is to choose to buy a connector of the same brand as the component, and secondly, cut off the connector at the end of the string and replace it with a connector of the same brand and model.
If you must use them interchangeably, cut off one of the groups and inter-inter-inter-inter-connect them with the connector you purchased. If the plugging and unplugging is smooth, blow air on the connector after inter-inter-inter-connection. If there is air leakage, this batch of products cannot be used interchangeably. Then use a multimeter to test whether the connector after inter-inter-connection is connected. If it is disconnected, it cannot be used. Inter-matching problems lead to poor contact or water leakage, which is also one of the causes of fire accidents.
2. The waterproof performance of the positive O-ring and the tail T-ring of the connector is not up to standard
Such problems may not cause accidents in a short time, but if it happens to be a rainy season, and the connector is soaked in rain. High-voltage direct current will form a loop with the earth, causing leakage and electric shock accidents. This problem is a connector selection problem, and almost no one pays attention to the real waterproof problem of the connector. There is a prerequisite for the waterproof IP67 of the photovoltaic connector, which must be matched with the photovoltaic cable of the corresponding size. For example, the conventional Staubli MC4 has three different sizes: 5~6mm, 5.5~7.4mm, and 5.9~8.8mm. If the outer diameter of the cable is 5.5mm, the Staubli connectors on the market will not have much problem, but if someone chooses the 5.9-8.8mm MC4, the hidden danger of leakage accidents will always exist.
