Twist wire connectors are a quick and easy way to connect multiple wires together into a single connector. Also known as wire nuts, these connectors make a secure connection that can easily be removed if necessary. Inside of the twist wire connector is a steel spring that bites onto the copper strands of the wires and basically threads itself onto the wires as it is twisted. The more you twist, the tighter the connection gets. Prior to inserting the wires into the connector, the ends need to be stripped and twisted together in a clockwise direction. Twist wire connectors have a maximum voltage rating of 600 volts.
