Abnormal color of the gold-plated layer and aging of the gold-plating liquid, the influence of impurities in gold-plated raw materials and excessive current density, the alloy content has changed in the hard gold plating industry.
1. Abnormal Color of The Gold-plated Layer and Aging of The Gold-plating Liquid
The color of the gold-plated layer after the connector is gold-plated is inconsistent with the normal color of the gold-plated layer, or there is a difference in the color of the gold-plated layer of the components in a set of products. If the gold-plating liquid is used for too long and too many impurities accumulate in the gold-plating liquid, it will definitely cause the color of the gold-plated layer to be abnormal.
2. The Influence of Impurities in Gold-plated Raw Materials and Excessive Current Density
Because when adding chemical materials to the gold-plating liquid, if the impurities brought in exceed the standard degree of the gold-plating liquid specification, it will quickly affect the brightness and color of the gold-plated layer. If it is organic impurities, it will also affect the phenomenon of the gold-plated layer becoming flowery and dark. If the current is too large when using gold plating, or because the total area of the aqueduct parts is calculated incorrectly, resulting in its value being greater than the actual surface area, this will cause the gold-plated layer of some plated parts to be rough and red.
3. The Alloy Content Has Changed in The Hard Gold Plating Industry
Because when the nickel and cobalt content in the plating solution changes, the color of the gold plating layer will change. Therefore, when the nickel content in the gold plating solution is too high, the metal color will become lighter. If the cobalt content in the gold plating solution is too high, the color of the gold layer will be reddish. Therefore, in order to improve the wear resistance and hardness of the connector, the hard gold plating process is generally used when gold plating the connector, because the most commonly used are gold-cobalt alloy and gold-nickel alloy.
